 Thursday, May 24, 2007-- Small update everyone. We've moved into the new home and it's fantastic. There may be photos to come but for now, we're busy as can be. Between Charlotte and myself we have 5 jobs. Yep, we're busy. Stay tuned, more will be coming soon. I found one image that hadn't been added to the fall foliage set! Sunday, March 4, 2007-- Wow, has it really been that long since I've updated? I guess it has been that long. The biggest news of all is that Charlotte and I have bought a house. We started looking around for a new home or apartment in January and in February we found an absolutely amazing place in southeast New Hampshire. We will be closing on the house on March 23. The place is so much more than we expected to find, because the home is owned by a corporation. Basically, a postal service worker sold it to the corporation so that he could go work in California. The corporation sold the home well below its value so that the property could be taken off the market quickly. Needless to say, the place is beautiful and we were lucky to find all of its features in our price range. I do have pictures of the place but will not make the pictures available here just for privacy reasons. Any family or friends that want to take a look at the place can shoot me an e-mail and I'll send you a link to the private photo album. Temperatures have been warming up here. We finally hit a high in the 40's this weekend! The highs have been in the 30's for a while now. It has snowed plenty of inches this year already. Just this past Thursday Rochester, NH received about 6 inches. Unbelieveable. My class at Lowell Community Charter Public school (LCCPS) can now find their homework and school news online now. Thursday, November 23, 2006-- Happy Thanksgiving! The fall foliage trip to Mount Washington in northern New Hampshire is complete. Charlotte and I drove up and took many photographs, some of which I wanted to share with you today. There is news on the teaching interview, more on that in a second though. Here are photos of the fall foliage in New Hampshire. Some of these photographs are even available as desktop wallpaper for you to download on your computer. Now about the teaching interview...there's a lot to be thankful this Thanksgiving. On October 25 I was hired by the Lowell Community Charter Public School in Lowell, MA. The position was to be an acceleration teacher, who helps academically struggling students. A few days later on my birthday, November 1, I was instead named the full classroom teacher for 7th grade math and science! There are many challenges I've been facing, having been thrown into the difficult task of turning around a classroom that was out of control. The students had become accustomed to not having rules enforced or being held accountable for not doing their assignments. The students were frustrated. The previous teacher was frustrated. Now, at the end of what is roughly my third week with the class, I do feel things are coming around. Still, more challenges remain. Students face rigorous state exams in the spring that they are grossly unprepared for. I like the challenge ahead of me and will work hard to make sure that I've done everything I can to help these students! Teaching again is definitely one big reason to be thankful!
